I Choose

I have drawn my line in the sand.

I realize that life is an uncontrollable force. Doing what it wants when it wants.

Life has no favorites or enemies. It simply is what it is…life.

What I can control, however, is me. I have full control over how I respond to the vicissitudes of life, and how I grow in adverse times instead of groan.

You see, I have lived at many levels in my short time on this earth.

I’ve seen big pay days and have had drought seasons longer than I would like to admit. I’ve been looked up to with admiration, and looked down upon as insignificant.

But through it all my spirit remains uplifted and unyielding. Plowing full steam ahead into the destiny that God has for me.

No matter what is thrown my way, I will always maintain my choice. And with that…

I choose life. To live it to my fullest potential and die empty.

I choose victory. Committed to view my trials on the proper perspective…smaller than my God.

I choose faith over facts. I accept the road less traveled. Knowing that I may not always know how it will work out, but knowing it will always work out for my good.

I choose financial prosperity. Not letting my financial situation define who I am, how I feel, or what I am worth.

I choose responsibility. To take full ownership of every working and broken area in my life. No longer placing blame on any external person or force for my life’s conditions.

I choose to live my life from the inside out. Letting the God inside of me order my steps. Instead of people’s opinions or the media.

I choose to accept failure as a rite of passage to success. Knowing that I grow the most when I’m broken, not when I “have it all together”.

I choose leadership. To live a life of integrity worth modeling and following.

I choose inspiration. To be inspired by those who have achieved. To inspire those willing to pursue their dream. And to become inspiration to myself when no one else can.

I choose family. To make sure the love for my wife and children is not only felt but also demonstrated. Keeping my priorities in check to make sure they never take a back seat to my journey of success.

I choose love. Knowing that it covers all sins and conquers all. I choose to extend it without reserve towards all whom I encounter.

I choose to not worry about situations I cannot control or those God has already spoken over. Understanding that it is faith that is required to see God’s will manifest in my life.

I choose me. To be the best version of me I can possibly be. Committed to spiritual, personal, and professional growth. Determined to never give up on the vision God has placed in me.

I believe in me…because God chose me first.

Thank you Lord for my victories and shortcomings of last year. They have shaped me into the man I am today.

A man that is one year closer than I have ever been to seeing your promise on my life fulfilled.

When it’s all said and done, and the smoke clears…

I choose God.
